The NBA Rookie Draft will be held for two days from this year.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) secretariat announced a change on the 1st (Korea time) to hold the rookie draft to be held in New York, USA, in June, divided into first and second rounds over two days.
This is the first time that the rookie draft will be held over two days. The first-round pick will be held at Barclays Center on June 26, local time, and the second-round pick will be held at ESPN’s Seaport District Studio on the 27th, the next day.
The rookie draft to select Victor Wimbanyama, the No. 1 player last year, took five hours to complete after midnight. This is why the draft lasted for two days.
This season’s draft order will be confirmed at a raffle event on May 12.
To qualify for the draft, players must attend an event in Chicago from May 13-19 local time and go through certain technical evaluations, height and arm length measurements, and medical tests.
